Corrupt UDA officials exposed for manipulating can didates register in upcoming nominations
Just three days before the party’s primary election, like in previous versions, it is slowly escalating into an open fight.
Deputy President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) is already feeling the pinch.
For a party less than a year old, it has already attracted more than 6,000 applicants.
With numbers like these comes the enormous responsibility of getting all candidates through the same nomination process.

There has been a lot of unrest in recent weeks as the so-called party leadership favors some candidates.
Aspirants have also raised concerns about the thorny issue of their names mysteriously disappearing from party lists over alleged outside interference.
A corrupt official within the UDA government has been strongly accused of orchestrating an elaborate scam to deliberately remove candidates from party membership and candidate lists without their knowledge.
The man, Brian Mbugua, is said to be working under Secretary-General Veronica Mena’s office.
One of the latest victims of the ongoing scam is Bobasi Boitangare MCA aspirant Peter Akeya Mangua, who regretfully told cnyakundi.com how his name was maliciously taken off the register despite paying the required entry fee of Sh50,000.
Immediately after the DP elected Senator Irungu Kang’ata for the Murang’a gubernatorial seat, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika for the governorship, and Mr. Edward Muriu for the Gatanga parliamentary seat, fears of the nomination of the hottest candidates overshadowing the UDA primary began immediately.
The allegations have kept Democrats on the defensive, insisting he personally ensured credible party primaries.
But that remains to be seen. Contenders will vie for the party’s ticket next Thursday in 12 gubernatorial races, 19 Senate races, 27 women’s representation races, 128 single-district congressional races, and 1,450 regional races.
