Martha Karua, the deputy presidential candidate for the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition, welcomed Raila Odinga to Kirinyaga, her home county, on Thursday.
Karua used the occasion to persuade Central Kenyans to vote against William Ruto for president of the United Democratic Alliance because he is supposedly “ungrateful and rude.” She emphasized that Ruto doesn’t deserve the backing of the Mt. Kenya area, claiming that when given a chance to collaborate with the president, he undercut President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“There is no joint presidency in Kenya. Once appointed as a deputy, you ought to stay in that position. You can’t criticize your boss first thing in the morning. Even if you aspire to be president, you don’t deserve respect if you don’t respect your boss. She stated
Karua urged the electorate to support Raila during a rally in Kagio market, saying that the ODM leader has their best interests at heart.
“We have integrity. We’re here to bring Kenyans together and look after your resources. As Raila Odinga pledged, we plan to protect your resources from corruption and misuse. She stated
“Raila is an experienced and mature leader,” Karua continued. He performs well and is composed throughout. He does not get upset as quickly as some of our rivals do. I am convinced you will vote for us, and we will win.
