The actor played the role of house help in Papa Shirandula’s show.
Awinja Nyamwalo, the stage name of Papa Shirandula’s show star Jackie Vile, has taken the internet by storm after releasing a flashback picture of herself as a small child on Thursday.
The young actor is pictured with two small boys who she claims are her brothers, an older brother and a younger brother..
Vickie claims that she rarely wears white during the workweek and that she donned her Sunday best on this particular day in order to shoot the picture.
“Me and my Brothers, I know we don’t look like we have showered but in this photo, we had showered specifically to take this photo. This was my Sunday best because there is no day you would find me in a white dress,” she said.
Awinja claims that her mother used to buy them unisex clothing and footwear, as was customary for most parents in those days, so that the younger siblings may wear them whenever they reached the appropriate age to fit in the clothing and shoes.
“Our mother used to buy us unisex shoes so that when we outgrow them our young siblings would put them on. I also do not understand the fascination with my mother and striped clothes. We all wore striped clothing in this photo,” she cheekily said.
While still a senior in high school, Awinja started her acting career. When she moved to Nairobi, she kept doing it and began performing in high school plays as characters from set books. Later, she started working for Theatrix Arts Ensemble.
Awinja, who portrayed the housekeeper in Papa Shirandula, also performed theatre plays at the Heartstrings in Kenya. Awinja has a five-year-old child who celebrated his birthday on June 3.
