Four persons have been confirmed dead following a road accident at Athiru Gaiti in Igembe south sub-county after a Miraa pick-up (Landrover) lost control due to brake failure in which the vehicle had excess passengers at the time the accident occurred.
Speaking to the medical superintendent for Nyambene hospital Dr Githu Wachira has said that they received 32 patients to attend and 8 cases have been referred to Meru level for medical attention due to injuries they had confirming that the accident has claimed four lives.
David Mugambi one of the survivors has said that he was seated with the driver and the driver claimed that brakes and failed at the time the accident occurred, only for him to realise he was in the hospital later on.
