Go ask Moi! Don’t underrate me, Raila tells Ruto

by Martin Kinyua January 29, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Raila Odinga, leader of the opposition, has cautioned President William Ruto against putting too much faith in the vice president.

The head of the Azimio claimed that the people’s might is greater than that of the state.

If you want to learn more about us, Raila said, “Ask Nyayo (late President Moi) about us.”

Speaking to his loyalists at the Jakaranda grounds, Raila claimed victory in the August 9 elections.

Despite losing to Ruto by over 2 million votes, Raila is confident that he would still win in a rematch.

The crowd responded with chants of “Ruto must go.”

The ODM leader is actively campaigning against Ruto’s administration, and he has announced his upcoming stops across the country.

The politician pledged to travel across Kenya to rally the population.

Machakos, Nakuru, Kakamega, Kisii, Kisumu, and Mombasa are next on the itinerary for the Azimio rallies.

After starting in Nairobi, Raila will travel to Kiambu, Garissa, Isiolo, and finally, Turkana, for a massive gathering.

He emphasized, “This is not about me; it is about the young, the female, the kid, the disabled, and the elderly.”

“Kenyans must have access to an election, the ballots must be counted, and the results must be announced according to the results counted,”

Azimio’s Jakaranda rally attracted thousands of his backers.

Before the meeting, Raila and other top Azimio officials, including Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka, attended a church service at the Jesus Teaching Ministries.

Others there included Martha Karua, head of the Narc Kenya, Wycliffe Oparanya, former governor of Kakamega, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Narok senator Ledama Ole Kina.

“At Jacaranda, we have decided to publicly oppose this administration. Let’s all tune in to hear what’s being said.” The ODM, which Raila leads, tweeted.

10 million bags of duty-free maize are set to flood the market next week, causing cereals uncertainty.

by Martin Kinyua January 29, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

The cereals industry is in doubt since 10 million bags of duty-free imported maize will be available to consumers the next week.

However, farmers in the North Rift region, the country’s food basket, are sitting on millions of dollars’ worth of supplies from the previous season’s crop, so the arrival of the maize will come at an inopportune time.

To the relief of consumers who have been battling the high cost of flour, the Agriculture Ministry yesterday reaffirmed that the 900,000 tonnes, or 10 million bags, of maize will be supplied to the market as scheduled to address the acute scarcity of the staple.

Principal secretary at the State Department of Crop Development, Mr. Kello Harsama, said licensed traders are expected to bring in the maize to enable the country to have sufficient stockpiles and minimize shortages caused by dropped output owing to drought.

In a phone call, Mr. Harsama confirmed that the release of duty-free maize will continue as planned to address a shortage of the commodity.

The Ministry of Agriculture has authorized the import of 900,000 metric tons of white maize and 600,000 metric tons of milled maize by traders from February to August of this year, without payment of any import duties.

The government will be able to maintain sufficient reserves until the following crop in July and August of 2023 thanks to this. The State Department for Crop Development announced in a notification that millers and traders could import white maize and milled rice duty-free until August 6, 2023.

Since duty-free imports of maize and rice would begin in February, President William Ruto had previously urged farmers to unload their stock at the present price of more than Sh5,000 per 90-kilogram bag.

More than 3.5 million Kenyans are at risk of famine due to an emergency food crisis caused by crop failure due to drought, but Mr. Harsama yesterday requested licensed traders to bring in the maize to address the shortfall of the staple.

“The release of the imported duty-free maize will go on to satisfy the need,” Mr. Harsama said, explaining that a severe drought during the previous planting season had reduced yields.

Low national supply
The National Drought Management Authority reports that 31 counties are suffering from severe food insecurity and are in need of emergency aid.

On average, the country produces 30–40 million bags per year, with the remaining 10–15 million being purchased on the regional market (from countries like the EAC and Comesa).

The number of bags of maize harvested in 2020 was 42,1 million, down from 44 million in 2019. The country has produced an annual average of 2.8 million tonnes of maize flour over the past five years.

In the past five years, Kenya has imported an average of 295,092 metric tons of maize every year, as reported by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics.

Annual agricultural data indicate that Rift Valley yields have been on a downward trend, with production falling from 27 million bags to 21 million in the most recent growing season.

Parts of the North Rift region are still in the midst of maize harvesting, with estimates putting national production at 30 million bags against annual consumption of around 45 million bags.

Approximately 2.5 million additional bags of maize will be released to the market from the 4.5 million bag harvest expected in Uasin Gishu County.

The county of Trans Nzoia, Kenya, produced an estimated 5.3 million bags of maize, while its residents used up just about 2 million bags.

We have ample corn supplies following bumper harvest this season and steps have been put in place to minimize post-harvest losses,” said Phanice Khatundi, the county executive in charge of agriculture, in a previous interview.

Abuse of Farmworkers
Fearing the release of duty-free corn, she condemned the exploitation of farmers by intermediaries who had swarmed to the area to buy the goods at throwaway prices.

There is still a need to safeguard farmers from being exploited by intermediaries, as Ms. Katundi pointed out, as some of them are still harvesting the crop.

Since imported maize is scheduled to hit local markets as soon as next week, farmers in the North Rift region, the country’s food basket, are selling quickly to avoid losses.

As thousands of disappointed farmers release their wheat onto the market, the price has decreased from Sh5,800 to Sh4,800.

Consumers can breathe a sigh of relief now that the manufacturing price of maize flour has dropped from Sh2,080 to Sh1,950.

Due to farmers selling their crop in a state of panic, con artists have been able to steal corn from them. The unscrupulous merchants have flooded the markets and are purchasing the grains with bouncing checks, while others are purchasing the goods on credit and then suddenly closing their businesses without paying the farmers.

Governor Jonathan Bii of Uasin Gishu County and other local authorities have warned farmers not to sell their goods to scammers and to wait to deliver goods until they have been paid.

“Unscrupulous merchants have caused a great deal of emotional distress for numerous farmers by stealing millions of dollars’ worth of crops. We will not tolerate the problem of fraudsters issuing farmers with checks that bounce or disappearing without a trace, as stated by the administrator.

Because they anticipate financial losses, farmers have pleaded with the government to maintain the current import ban.

Why Your Vagina Smells Like Fish & What To Do About It

by Martin Kinyua January 29, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Sometimes what you consume can be traced back to your body odor. Have you ever noticed that the odor of your urination (and even your vaginal discharge or bowel movements) becomes faintly reminiscent of the food you just ate? Is there a problem with seafood? The question “why does my vagina smell like fish?” may have crossed your mind the last time you were in the downward dog yoga pose and caught a whiff of a fishy stench coming from down there. It’s not from the fish you ate, and it’s probably something serious that needs medical attention right away.

What gives my vagina such a fishy odor?

Dr. Kameelah Phillips, an OB-GYN, warns patients that fishy odors around the vagina should be avoided at all costs. There must be a problem if it actually smells like fish. The good news is that it can be managed through treatment. Phillips explains that the most prevalent cause is a bacterial infection of the vaginal tract (called bacterial vaginosis, or BV). Please explain the nature of this frightening illness. Phillips says that the reason your lady parts smell fishy is because of an imbalance in the vaginal flora.

Certified nurse midwife and board-certified women’s health nurse practitioner Barbara Slocum agrees, explaining the cause of BV in an email interview: “BV is triggered by a change in the vaginal pH that allows an overgrowth of a ‘bad’ bacteria (that normally resides in harmony with the good bacteria in the vagina).

Just what is the protocol for dealing with bacterial vaginosis?
Just how soon will that fishy odor disappear, anyway? “This imbalance is typically treated with antibiotics, but in some cases, you may find that it resolves on its own after your period, with probiotics, or within a relatively short amount of time, i.e., your vaginal flora balanced out. In the event that the odor returns, it is not cause for despair. Phillips notes that sometimes a series of treatments is needed to restore equilibrium.

If your genitalia are healthy, how should they smell?

I asked Slocum if it wasn’t meant to have an odor at all if it was healthy, and she reminds us that “the vagina does not, nor should it, smell like potpourri. Women have been led to believe, incorrectly, that their vagina should be odorless or smell like a bouquet of roses. Many women also worry about vaginal discharge, but she says that as long as it’s clear, odorless, and not itchy or burning, it’s usually normal and the vagina is doing its job.

Phillips explains that “most vaginas have some form of stench,” especially after a long day at the office, strenuous exercise, or a woman’s monthly period. “Your vagina should smell like you,” I tell my female patients, “and ‘you’ will change as the month progresses.”

She also emphasizes that a “normal odor” is often hard to explain. Phillips advises, “Do not hesitate to smell your panties – do not blush, they are yours.” “This will aid in familiarizing yourself with your typical odor and making it simpler to recognize any deviations when they occur.”

What kind of vaginal bleeding is typical?

As your cycle progresses, you may notice a shift in the pattern of your discharge. The color and consistency of monthly discharge can shift from clear to white to yellow. The texture might range from watery to creamy. Phillips states, “Checking your underwear may alert you to a shift in your normal level of comfort.” Phillips says to be on the lookout for scents like fish or yeast, as these could be signs of an illness.

It’s been recommended by both Phillips and Slocum that you not douche or flush your vagina clean. Cleaning the vagina and perineal area requires simply a gentle cotton washcloth and warm water. Do not use soaps, body scrubs, or detergents on the vagina, as some of these products may be classified as detergents.

I agree with Phillips that you shouldn’t put soap or other cleansers in your genitalia. You don’t need any kind of vaginal hygiene product because your vagina can clean themselves. It is recommended that a light wash be used to clean the outer labia and the anus, but that the vagina be avoided at all costs when doing so.

If a woman is concerned about a vaginal odor, Slocum says that should contact their health care practitioner. Too many of the women I see have tried home cures that have either made their symptoms worse or had no effect on the underlying problem.

According to Slocum, good perineal hygiene entails avoiding the use of perfumes and sprays in the area, avoiding tight-fitting clothing like skinny jeans (especially when symptomatic), removing wet and sweaty exercise clothing, avoiding thongs, and not using fabric softeners or scented soap when washing underwear. Antibiotics can disrupt the balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut; taking a probiotic or eating yogurt can help restore this balance and prevent further illness.

A “fishy” scent that is out of the ordinary for you is probably nothing major, but it is still worth mentioning to your doctor. Not just because it’s unpleasant for you, but you don’t want an infection sticking around in your lady bits. Keep clean down there, and steer away of those marketed feminine hygiene cleansers. Adding anything to your vagina will disrupt the delicate balance that exists there.

I wasn’t astonished. Kamene discusses Sheila Kwamboka replacing her.

by Martin Kinyua January 29, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Kamene Goro has opened up on her feelings toward Sheila Kwamboka’s takeover of The Morning Kiss.

According to Goro, she has faith that the ex-HomeBoyz presenter can continue to entertain her audience.

I have no doubt that Sheila will do an excellent job as host; she is a wonderful person.

Was she taken aback when Sheila was revealed to be her successor?

I knew beforehand from a friend, so I wasn’t surprised when the news leaked.

Her departure “had been finalized,” she explained.

Sheila has accepted a position with the Westlands-based media business, according to an announcement made by RAL Group Chief Operating Officer Martin Khafafa.

To strive for ever-increasing excellence is one of our highest priorities. There is a new member of the Radio Africa Group staff: Sheila Kwamboka, or Kwambox, as her fans call her.

She is well-known as the place where the most successful Americans in the media industry have called home for the previous two decades. In an interview with Mpasho, he said, “I hope that Kwambox as an addition would not only provide listeners an opportunity to enjoy bigger, better, more engaging radio but also give marketers a chance you know to get things defined and well connected to consumers.”
The seasoned media professional played coy when asked whose station she would be joining, claiming that the decision will be made by the program controllers.

We have several different broadcasting hubs. Therefore, the decision rests with the program controllers. Over the course of the next few days, they plan to carry out said activity.

Mr. Khafafa emphasized again that impatient viewers should give the program controllers time to do their jobs, as the company offered a wide variety of stations for her to choose from.

I can say with certainty that she is now part of the crew. It’s an adaptable crew that broadcasts on six different radio stations, two of which provide live morning shows. It’s possible she’ll show up on any of them.

The stations Classic105, Kiss100, Radio Jambo, Homeboyz, Gukena, and East FM are all owned by Radio Africa Group at the present time.

Thrilled about her new position, Kwambox shared the news on social media and vowed to dive headfirst into it.

I’m about to embark on my next project! Thank you for getting me this far. This following step, I wanna just give it my all. #Kwamboxingisalifestyle The hashtag “#Kapooow” was included in a Kwambox statement.

Known by her stage moniker, Kwambox, she shot to fame after appearing as Kenya’s representative on the third season of Big Brother and later returning for the fifth season.

She briefly played basketball at the professional level and won the Miss Tourism competition in 2005.

Due to her enthusiasm for the medium, she has previously held positions at both Homeboyz Radio and Vybez Radio.

7 weird things men find attractive in women

by Morris Muriuki January 28, 2023
written by Morris Muriuki

In this article, we are going to discuss the 7 weirdest things men say they find attractive in women.

It is quite easy to guess what men generally find attractive in women- a pretty face, nice curves, good manners, and every other thing nice.

While we could go on mentioning the great, endearing attributes that almost every man would be attracted to in a heartbeat, we’ve also discovered, from research and questioning guys, that there are some weird things that men love about women, things you would never have guessed or imagined.

Some of these things are ‘special’ personal preferences, and some are a bit common among men… but they are all weird none-the-less. 1. ‘Weakness’

Not weakness in the sense of being unable to stand up and speak for yourself, or being spineless but as Francis puts it “I like it when my girl calls me to help her solve riddles, lift stuff or provide answers to things that confuse her. I think it’s so cute. Makes me feel like a man”

Everyone loves to have their ego stroked once in a while, right?

2. Applying makeup

From the way men complain about women wasting time with makeup, it’s quite strange to discover that some men actually love watching them apply it.

But Obinna really likes. “There’s just something fascinating about watching my babe apply make up. I just sit down and watch her do all that stuff. I love it And of course, I love seeing her wear the makeup so gorgeously,” he says.

3. Stubbornness

Okay. This is straight up weird AF. Who loves a stubborn woman, right?

Well, Chibuzor says; “I love stubbornness in a woman… I don’t know why, I can’t explain it, I just do.“

It’s probably something to do with knowing a woman can stand her ground, and insist when she needs to.

4. Stretch marks

Never thought the word stretch-mark and attractive would ever be used in the same sentence but some guys actually find stretch marks attractive.

Some men are attracted to women wearing glasses

5. Wearing glasses

This is quite common and very understandable – women in glasses are usually very good looking.

Why this makes our list is because women who wear glasses sometimes fear they are unattractive because of that.

If only you knew how gorgeous those frames make you look!

6. No make up

“I just like it when she can feel comfortable around me without makeup. I feel she needs to know that with or without makeup, I find her gorgeous” says Ibidapo.

No makeup faces are very attractive to some other men

7. Clumsiness

While it is cool to be well-behaved, comported, and calm, quite a number of guys have also shown interest in women with clumsy, goofy sides – those who are not always serious or uptight and can make those crazy faces for selfies.

Jalang’o makes a lovely pledge to Kamene upon her leaving Kiss 100

by Martin Kinyua January 28, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Former co-host Kamene Goro is leaving Kiss FM after three years, and comedian and politician Jalang’o has written a letter of support for her.

In light of Ms. Goro’s impending departure from radio, Jalas has urged her to relax about her prospects.

“Hey, big guy, I know you’ve got a lot on your mind right now! We have too many feelings, too much love, and too many questions. Stop stressing! Oh, I see you! I’m here to be your big brother for life.”

He continued by saying that he is prepared to walk alongside Kamene in this new chapter of her life and that she will always have a big brother in him.

God is with you as you embark on this new chapter of your life. A heartfelt thank you for a job well done and for your generosity. The fact that you exist as you does is greatly appreciated. The utmost respect, @kamenegoro! Thank you so much, @kiss100kenya, for letting me meet such a remarkable person.

New books, fresh starts! Jamene and Jalas,” Jalang’o concluded.

Until he left in February 2022 to run for the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat, Jalang’o co-hosted The Morning Kiss with Kamene Goro.

When asked who her favorite co-hosts were at Kiss 100, Kamene said it was a tie between Jalas and Oga Obinna in her farewell letter.

“We became really close, and they have contributed greatly to my joy. The vibes from Obina are incredible, and the time we’ve spent together has been fantastic “Said Kamene.

Kamene further clarified that she was not terminated from her position at Kiss 100.

There was no need to promote me, but my contract had expired. This is a case of sina ubaya na mtu. Yes, I have heard those rumors as well; conversing is OK, but keep your facts straight.

I was sick and had to miss work last year. Sickness is unavoidable and cannot be prepared for. I could never show up to the office intoxicated “”, she remarked.

Doctor’s hanging body found at Machakos house

by Martin Kinyua January 28, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Directorate of Criminal Investigations detectives are looking into a possible suicide that occurred in Kangundo, Machakos County.

After the decaying body of a doctor’s intern was found in his rented house in the Kangundo sub-county on Saturday, detectives immediately began looking into the case.

Police reported that the body of Fredrick Wambua was discovered hanging in the man’s bedroom.

Michael Singa, the deputy police commander for the Kangundo sub-county, stated that the event occurred somewhere around 1300.

According to Singa, the deceased was an intern at Kangundo Level 4 hospital while attending medical school at Moi University.

Reports of a suicide by one of the interns at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital led police to the residential area where Dr. Fredrick Wambua, 29, was living, Singa told reporters on Saturday.

Singa claimed the rotting corpse was discovered on a hook in the wall.

He said that top-level police officers from the Kangundo sub-county had visited the scene and confirmed the event.
According to Singa, a note found at the scene is thought to be a suicide note written by the victim.

After processing the scene, officers sent the deceased to the Kangundo Level 4 hospital mortuary for an autopsy, he said.

The contents of the suicide note have not been made public by the police.

The intern likely used an electrical line to hang himself. He was a loner who never had any housemates.

After disappearing for some time, the deceased was found dead. His absence from the office lasted for several days.

Diamond’s lovely note to his adoring audience after the “Yatapita” video surpasses 1,000,000 views in under 17 hours.

by Martin Kinyua January 27, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Diamond Platnumz, the president of the WCB, has written a note of thanks to his followers after the video for his new song, “Yatapita,” had over one million views in just 17 hours.

A grateful Platnumz thanked them for supporting him and ensuring that he consistently breaks records with their dancing to his music.

I appreciate the 1 million views in under 17 hours.

“Nawashkuru kwa Mapokezi yenu makubwa na Upendo wenu kwangu,” said the speaker. InshaAllah Mwenyez Mungu atubariki sote na Kutufungulia kila jema Tuliombalo, Shukran kwa Kila aliyeshiriki kufanikisha Video Hii ya #Yatapita, Diamond said.

The movie is currently trending at the top of the charts in more than 5 nations, including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Oman, Dubai, the UK, Germany, and Qatar.

The Yatapita song exhorts men to keep working hard no matter what.

Men go through a lot when they are not financially stable, the CEO and founder of WCB Wasafi said, asking women to always be patient with their relationships.
The majority of guys, he continued, want to support their partners, but occasionally financial difficulties force them into difficult situations.

InshaAllah Mwaka Huu Mwenyez Mungu atujaalie tuweze, the star said, “Wimbo huu ukawatie Moyo na kuwafariji wote ambapo tunapitia changamoto mbalimbali za Kimaisha.”

Platnumz chose to take his fans on a trip down memory lane while promoting the song by recalling the occasion when he was dumped for not having any money.

Even while Platnumz reached a million views in 17 hours, he fell short of breaking his own record of less than 8 hours, as his song #Waah, a duet with Koffi Olomide, amassed over a million views in that time.

The #Waah audio also smashed the previous record for fastest 100K YouTube views set by Hamonize’s song Attitude featuring Congolese musician Awilo Longomba and H Baba, which reached 100K views in just 44 minutes.

JUSTINA SYOKAU – MUME WANGU ALIKUWA “WOMANIZER”

by Martin Kinyua January 27, 2023
written by Martin Kinyua

Justina Syokau, the creator of the hit song Twedi Twedi, claims that her ex-husband expelled her when their marriage ended.

Justina described her former experience of being in an abusive marriage in an interview with “The Trend”

Justina said that her partner had been unfaithful, and she was eventually kicked out along with their child.

“When we first started dating, I never imagined he would end up as a serial cheater, and he was. He used to throw us out while I was pregnant, but I persisted since our parents had always told us to stick together.

“I used to believe he would change since so many people prayed for us, but I could always find him with women. After a while, he kicked us out, and I moved under the Muthurwa bridges “She spoke.

According to the mother of one, her ex-husband is a deadbeat.

The single mother confessed in a different interview that she wanted to have six more children with her future partner.

She stated:

“When I say I want a rich man, people assume I’m searching for a sponsor. In reality, though, I’m seeking for a man who can handle responsibility. Regardless of age, I can marry anyone as long as he can support me “She spoke.

Additionally, Justina Syokau disclosed that since her divorce from her husband in 2013, she has been celibate.

The 2020 hitmaker said why she chose to abstain from sexual activity in an interview with Consumator: she wanted to avoid temptation so she could take care of her son.

“I divorced my husband after having a child and chose to live a celibate life because I didn’t want to fall prey to temptation once more and I needed to help my partner with his obligations. It is better to avoid temptation than to fall prey to it. Have a child with a man who will abandon you to raise the child on your own.”

The singer continued by saying that being single has its benefits, including independence, and that she has never been with a man since her broken marriage.

A year after getting married in 2012, Justina Syokau filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, including infidelity.
