Nairobi landowners have until September to repaint their structures.
The Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) suspended the request by a year to permit more opportunities to consent.
NMS had requested repainting of all structures in Nairobi in 60 days as a component of a continuous beautification project.
NMS chief Major General Mohamed Badi said the request was stretched out as landowners whined of intense monetary occasions occasioned by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“When people come and request for a grace period as NMS we considered. The business owners decried having being affected by Covid-19 to an extent where they had to lay off staff because of the pandemic,” said Badi.
“They requested a one-year extension so that when their businesses pick up, they will repaint their building.”
