CS George Magoha has stalled the proposed changes at the University of Nairobi until an endorsement and gazettement by the ministry.

The progressions by the college chamber addressed redesign of the administrative order, including nullifying 24 universities, from 35 to 11.

Likewise scrapped are five jobs of Deputy Vice-Chancellors, which will be replaced by two posts of Associate Vice Chancellors.

Council Chair, Prof Julia Ojiambo clarified that the resultant administration and changes incorporating new reasoning that separates the organization to help the foundation’s partners.

In a letter to University Vice-Chancellors and Principals of constituent schools, Magoha, said “any action on the proposed changes should be kept in abeyance pending the relevant approvals and/or gazettement of the relevant instruments,”

The order doesn’t just influence changes proposed at UoN, and some other organizations expecting to impact authoritative and administration changes.

For the University of Nairobi, it’s  a perpetual end of any progressions it expected on the endorsement status the changes will get from the education ministry.

While Magoha notes he likes endeavors in checking on University scholarly and regulatory designs, he contends that such corrections need thought, endorsement, and gazettement where relevant.

“Where proposed audits require alterations to Charter or Legal Notices the proposed changes should be sent to the Ministry through the Commission for University Education before being gazetted by the CS,” Magoha notes in the letter.

The CS has additionally requested that the University compose a reason for the proposed changes, the reasoning behind the choices, association structure, staff foundation, human asset arrangements, and rules.

The college should also demonstrate the accessibility of the financial plan to recourse for the proposed rebuilding and enlistment.
