Occupants of Kimilili were yesterday treated to drama when their MP Didmus Barasa and artist and contractor Stephen Masinde, also known as Steve Kay, engaged in a fight.
Barasa, (who is one of the Tanga Tanga individuals and an ally of Deputy President William Ruto,) had visited Baptist Lurare Primary School in Kamukuywa Ward in his region, where he was to commission five new classes. The classes were renovated through National Government Constituency Development Fund.
Nonetheless, he was shocked when he found that Steve and his partner Ronald Graham Wafula, who he had contracted to construct homerooms, had secured them requesting to be satisfied their obligations before they could give up the keys.
The show followed before Didmus Barasa flew off the handle and slapped Steve who was requesting to be paid Sh3.4 million for the work.
Steve experienced different substantial wounds from the MP’s slap and has since announced the make a difference to the police.
This isn’t the first first-time Kimilili MP has become adamant to pay contractors as there are a few protests by different contractors blaming the Ruto-partnered MP for not regarding the contracts.
