Kenya Hrambee stars Expelled From Afcon Qualifiers

Kenya’s Harambee Stars will not qualify for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.

Kenya is currently being banned by FIFA due to the government.

The country has cleaned up the mess two weeks before qualifying for the June opener, but so far nothing has changed.

Instead, CS Sports Ambassador Amina Mohammed recently formed an FKF transition committee to continue Kenyan football for five weeks.
“Kenya has been excluded from qualifying because the ban imposed on the country by FIFA three months ago is still in effect. They have not met any of the conditions set by FIFA and CAF,” said one inside the African governing body. A source told National Sports on Thursday.

Kenya last took part in the Afcon in Egypt in 2019 but missed the 2021 match in Cameroon.

Kenya is tied with Cameroon, Burundi, and Zambia in Group C of the Ivory Coast qualifiers.
