An Eldoret court has allowed five suspects including three under the age of 18 who are accused of murdering fashion activist Edwin Kiptoo popularly known as Edwin Chiloba to be detained for 21 days to allow police officers to complete their investigation. Criminal Dcio from Eldoret South Stephen Mumo asked for more time saying Chiloba’s autopsy has not yet been done and releasing the suspects will endanger their lives.
In addition, the mother has told the court that Jackton Odhiambo, who is one of the suspects, was seen hanging out with his partner in different entertainment centers before he was found dead and the police officers want to examine the CCTV cameras in those areas. until 31/1/2023 when the case will be mentioned.
Chiloba was found murdered last week and his body was found placed in a corrugated iron box and thrown on the side of the road in a remote area on the outskirts of Eldoret. The Chiloba family speaking outside the Eldoret court said they are satisfied with the way the investigation into the murder of their relative is being done and they want justice to be done.
