Kangundo, three children aged 8,6, and 4 years have been burned beyond recognition in what is thought to be caused due land disputes in the area. The fire incident happened yesterday when it alleged that unknown people destroyed property and burned several houses including a probox car parked outside the homestead. OCPD kangundo Zechariah Bitok said officers from kawethei police post received information about the invaders and went to the scene. He confirmed that the 3 children burned beyond recognition. Two females and one male aged 8,6 and 4. He also said that the bodies were collected and taken to Kangundo hospital mortuary as they await post-mortem. As of now, no arrest has been made. Joyce Akinyi Ochieng the Assistant county Kakuyuni confirmed that the case revolves around a family land issue.
They came to her office yesterday as they have had a ĺong standing dispute. She said that it was a case of inheritance between the family and could not resolve the issue and she referred them to the law courts. She added that it was sad about the arson act as they had lost 3 innocent kids.
