North Korea’s Kim ordered test of ‘new type’ of ICBM: state media
North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un personally oversaw the test-firing of the country’s “new type” of intercontinental ballistic missile, state media reported Friday.
“The test-launch of a new type inter-continental ballistic missile Hwasongpho-17 of the DPRK strategic forces was conducted on March 24… under the direct guidance of Kim Jong Un,” KCNA said.

The Hwasong-17 is a giant ICBM first unveiled in October 2020 and dubbed a “monster missile” by analysts. It has never previously been successfully test fired. “The missile, launched at Pyongyang International Airport, traveled up to a maximum altitude of 6,248.5 km and flew a distance of 1,090 km for 4,052s before accurately hitting the pre-set area in open waters” in the Sea of Japan, KCNA said. Raila Issues Statement After Journalists Attacked at ODM House
Azimio La Umoja presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, has issued a statement following allegations that two journalists were attacked while covering an event at the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on Thursday, March 24.

In a statement signed by the Raila Odinga Campaign Spokesperson, Makau Mutua, the former Prime Minister expressed regret over the incident, terming it as unfortunate.

Meta Unveils Requirements for Kenyans Placing Political Ads on its Platforms
Meta will require the real identities of people placing political ads on Facebook and Instagram before they are published. The company said it would utilize its resources and tools targeting political advertising ahead of the August 9 polls to enhance integrity and transparency.
The transparency will help voters know the identity of the people behinds ads placed on the Meta platforms. It will also give the politicians and political advertisers key resources to reach and engage supporters and potential voters throughout the election period.
