Lionel Messi’s rumoured intention to leave the French powerhouse at the conclusion of the 2022–23 season has created tension in the French capital. Current contract for the 35-year-old striker with PSG expires at the end of the season, and the Ligue 1 powerhouses have supposedly failed to convince him to sign a new contract.

Sportskeeda reports that Messi is weighing his options with PSG after winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina in December. According to reports, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner has been fielding offers from clubs all around Europe and will shortly make a choice.

Messi moved to the French champions for nothing in 2021, making 55 total appearances in all competitions. He has scored 24 goals and sent out 29 assists. Will Messi ever play for Barcelona again? Meanwhile, Inside Sport adds that just two years after Messi set up camp with PSG, Barcelona might reconcile with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner. Since Messi supposedly turned down a contract extension offer from the French club, La Blaugrana have emerged as the favorites to sign the 35-year-old this summer.
