Over 700 liters of illicit brew were seized at a homestead in Kaguma village, Gichera sub location in Runyenjes Embu county. The brew, packaged in plastic tanks, was found hidden inside a three-bedroomed brick house. The suspect, Benson Ireri Ndeke, is reportedly at large following the raid. Kagaari South East Senior Chief Daniel Ndwiga confirmed the incident and expressed concern over the increasing number of people engaging in the production and sale of illegal alcohol. The sale of this harmful alcohol is often conducted by unscrupulous traders who mix various chemicals with alcohol to produce cheap and potent liquor. The Kenyan government has been taking steps to address this issue by cracking down on the production and sale of illicit brew. However, there is a need for sustained efforts to address the root causes of this problem and reduce the harm caused by illicit brew on individuals and communities
