National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has denied allegations of being involved in the recent invasion of land belonging to former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family in Ruiru. Speaking on Tuesday, Ichung’wah condemned the invasion and stated that he learned of it through social media.
He claimed that he did not know anything about the invasion and that he was ready to be questioned by the police if needed. Ichung’wah also stated that the attack on the Kenyatta family’s land was orchestrated to malign Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, and himself.
He urged the police to investigate the matter and promised to account for every minute of his time. The invasion of the Northlands City farm in Ruiru occurred when a group of armed individuals destroyed property and felled trees before escaping with an unknown number of sheep.
Ichung’wah’s remarks on Kenyatta’s family estate had recently made rounds on social media, where he had reportedly urged the former President to desist from funding anti-government demonstrations.
