Nairobi Azimio MCAs gave the government 12 hours to release Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo Onyango.

On Monday, MCA majority leader Peter Imwatok denounced the ward rep’s incarceration.

“Dictatorship and Moi are back. “Imwatok wants Absalom released unconditionally within 12 hours.”

Thus, the Azimio MCAs challenged the Kenya Kwanza administration to arrest their leader Raila Odinga, who they say is obeying his orders.

I want to challenge the entire government—you know who should be arrested. Please arrest Raila Odinga. “That dude instructs us to go right and we go,” Imwatok stated.

Odhiambo, also known as Mattach, was arrested by DCI agents at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) offices before noon for alleged inciting.

He was arrested with his attorneys Apollo Mboya and Imwatok.

His detention followed a viral video of him criticizing the Kenya Kwanza government during the Kamukunji demonstration.

The Rev. Samuel Kobia-led commission called him because such comments caused unneeded tension that could lead to national catastrophe if not addressed.

Imwatok and Odhiambo arrived at the NCIC offices in Upperhill at Britam to find no officials.

“We sat more than one hour and when the officers came they claimed there was no problem and they intended to serve Mattach with a summon letter to appear before them on Wednesday,” he said.

After leaving the officers and outside the building, the majority leader said they found three Subaru foresters and officers who grabbed the Korogocho legislator and raced away.

Fortunately, Imwatok and the lawyer photographed the vehicle’s number plates and the officers.

The Korogocho ward rep was arrested and taken to Kikuyu police station in Kiambu county a few minutes later.

“By law, if you’re detained in Nairobi, you’re taken to the nearest police station. Unfortunately, Mattach is in Kiambu county and in Kikuyu police station, and no one is allowed to see him,” Imwatok said.
