Done deal! Martha Karua endorses Raila for presidency

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has officially joined the Azimio La Umoja coalition led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The veteran politician joined the Azimio camp on Wednesday after closed-door consultation with the opposition chief at Serena Hotel, Nairobi

Speaking to a joint-presser with the Azimio leader, Karua said Raila is her preferred successor in the 2022 race.

“I’m here to confirm that from now onwards, Narc Kenya and I are supporting the Azimio La Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga for the presidency,” she said.

Karua declared that she will henceforth hit the road to drum up support of Raila’s presidential bid.

She lauded the opposition chief as the best bet for the country saying she is ready to rally her supporters behind him. read more on the star.co.ke

Mama Ngina Rebukes Leaders Insulting Uhuru Kenyatta, Says They Were Brought up Poorly

Former first lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta has called out politicians hurling insults at her son President Uhuru Kenyatta in their rallies and social media.

Without naming the aforementioned politicians, Mama Ngina attributed their ‘bad behaviour’ to poor upbringing.

Speaking during the burial of her cousin in Gatundu South constituency on Tuesday, March 22, the 88-year-old said someone’s behaviour in public depends on how they were brought up. “…depending on how someone was brought up when he or she is out in public, he or she should not insult another person. Kenya Railways has introduced commuter bus services for Kenyans using their commuter trains within Nairobi Metropolis.

In a schedule released on Tuesday, February 9, KR revealed that train commuters in the city would now extend their trips via the buses which will pick passengers at the Nairobi Commuter Railway (NCR).

Additionally, the state corporation announced various pickup points and drop-off centres along the route. KR explained that the bus was introduced to help the commuters find ease in accessing train services. Read more on Kenyans.co.ke

Limited Access to Smartphones Challenge to CBK’s Digital Currency Plan

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has said that the anticipated rollout of the proposed Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) could be hampered by the lack of smartphone access by about half of the country’s population.

According to official data, 56 percent (33 million) cellphone devices out of 59 million devices in the country are feature phones. No Degree Holders Allowed In New Police Recruitment After Pay Row: NPSC

Degree holders will not be accepted in the latest police recruitment exercise which kicks off on Thursday, March 24, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) has said.

The Commision says that it does not want a repeat of disputes witnessed previously with graduate officers over salaries.

“In the adverts placed in various media platforms, we have indicated that we are recruiting police constables with minimum qualifications of D+ in their KSCE exam and it remains such,” NPSC official John Ole Moyaki said during a sensitization exercise in Kabarnet, Baringo County on Monday. read more on citizen digital
