Raila pledges to end corruption, fix judiciary
Azimio La Umoja’s presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, has vowed to wage an all-out war on corruption and end vices as a signature plan to work with the U.S. government.
On Tuesday, in a meeting with the African Business Council, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and African constituencies, Odinga brought together leading U.S. opinion and business organizations to direct their investments to Kenya.
The August presidential candidate, who is touring the United States, has vowed to address concerns that keep investors from fully accepting Kenya.
Odinga also held talks with the Atlantic Council, where he pledged to address what he says are governance issues that keep investors away, like a flawed justice system and high energy costs.
Companions to the ODM head include NARC Kenya head Martha Karua and Dr. Sally Kosgay.
Mr. Odinga will complete his U.S. meetings at the State Department, the White House, and Capitol Hill on Wednesday before returning to Nairobi in time for the state funeral of former President Mwai Kibaki.
