Raila leads with 50% while Ruto Wanjakoyah trails him at 25%: The Orange Movement for Democracy (ODM), led by Raila Odinga, is the party of choice in Nairobi, according to Africa Trends and Insights.

In polls released on Tuesday, ODM was the most popular at 30 percent, while Vice President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA) had 22 percent.

George Wajackoyah’s Root Party and the ruling Jubilee Party came third with 4% of the vote. Kalonzo Musyoka’s wiper popularity in cities and counties is 2%.

However, 37% of respondents are still undecided.

The poll also showed that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance remains the most popular at 46%.

Kenya’s Kwanza came in second with 24%, with 30% of respondents still undecided.

“ODM and Azimio la Umoja are both more popular than their rivals, UDA and Kenya Kwanza, though interestingly the proportion of self-association/identification with formations/coalition is greater than for political parties (total of 70 percent for the former vs. 63 percent for the latter),” Tifa said.
“Also evident is the somewhat greater popularity of both ODM and Azimio among older Nairobians (i.e., aged 35 and above) as compared to UDA and Kenya Kwanza.”
In the study conducted on June 20, 2022, 632 respondents were interviewed.

The survey has an error rate of +/- 3.8%.

Data were collected via telephone surveys, each lasting 7 minutes.
