Anthony Martial, Antony, and Scott McTominay will not be able to play for Manchester United against Leeds United on Sunday, according to head coach Erik ten Hag.
Martial has been hurt a few times during the 2022-23 season, and a hip problem is keeping the France international from playing right now.
Ten Hag has said that the 27-year-old is also likely to miss Sunday’s trip to Elland Road. No time frame has been set for his possible return. Like Martial, Antony didn’t play against Leeds on Wednesday at Old Trafford. The Brazil international was ruled out because of a leg injury. “I don’t expect [them to be fit]. We have some days, but I don’t expect it,” Ten Hag told reporters during his press conference.
The Dutchman said that his team did not have “any new problems” on Wednesday, but that Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen will be out for a long time because of injuries.
“If I can keep an eye on it from here on out, I don’t think there will be any new problems,” he said.
Casemiro will also miss the game because he is still suspended, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be back if he gets over the illness that kept him out of Wednesday’s game against Leeds.
“With the injuries, if you look at Christian Eriksen, you can’t see that as a result of the tough season, but it is a tough season with the World Cup in the middle and a lot of overload for the players. It’s already happening that the players are carrying too much,” Ten Hag said.
McTominay, on the other hand, has missed Man United’s last four games because of a muscle problem. The Dutchman also said that Martial, Antony, and McTominay are all big questions for the Europa League playoff first leg against Barcelona next week.
