On Friday morning, a fire broke out at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, destroying property of unspecified value.
According to a statement released by the Nairobi County Government, the incident occurred at the supermarket and pharmacy at around 3:30 a.m.
But when firefighters from Nairobi City County arrived, they were able to put out the blaze.
County Executive Anastacia Nyalita, who is responsible for health matters, has verified that there were no recorded casualties.
The fire was extinguished by the Nairobi City County fire and rescue team in a record time of 10 minutes. Nobody was hurt,” she reassured us.
A team from Nairobi County Tin, working with the police, is currently conducting an assessment of the damage and trying to determine the source of the incident, as stated by Ms. Nyalita.
Meanwhile, at about 5 a.m., the hospital went back to normal operations.
