Felix Odiwuor AKA Jalang’o or Jalas is a Kenyan comedian, director, MC, radio host, and actor. He is commonly known for his signature look which is a green suit and a t-shirt with a leopard print.

Felix Odiwuor was born on 27th April 1983. He is 38 years of age as of 2021.
Jalang’o Family
Felix Odiwuor was born and raised in Homa Bay County from a humble background. Schooling for him and the siblings was a burden to his struggling family and his older brother had to drop out of school to enable him to continue with his education. His father passed on the day he received his kiss FM acceptance letter making him the sole breadwinner.
Jalang’oEducation
He attended Homa Bay Lake Primary School where he performed exorbitantly well and attained a letter from Maseno school but later found out that his slot had been given out after he missed the admission day looking for fees from family and well-wishers. He instead joined Bar Konyango Secondary School a local school in Siaya, and later transferred to Nyangoma Secondary School in Bondo due to financial struggles. Despite all these struggles, he attained a C+ but did proceed with further education at the time, due to lack of fees.
On November 13, 2020, Jalang’o graduated from Daystar University with a degree in Community Development.
Marriage
Jalang’o was married to Cheptoek Boyo, a birthed a daughter, Salika. They later divorced and Jalang’o later married Amina Chao his Taita girlfriend, in a private traditional wedding ceremony in October 2019 a marriage which brought forth Two kids who he has worked hard to keep out of his celebrity spectacle.
Jalang’o Background and Career
Jalang’o humbly started as a fisherman in His hometown Homa bay and later relocated to Nairobi where he Cohabited with relatives. He did menial construction tasks while in the meantime pursuing his long-term dream of creating art, he faced rejection from his numerous tries.
His entry into the stage came when he got an invitation from Kenya National Theatre as the second cast. He was much of a layabout during the shows as the main characters shunned him. his moment to shine came rather by chance or grace when an actor drank themselves off and he got the chance to introduce a set book play, upon which he received numerous commendations from the teachers, students, and his fellow actors catching the eye of the director. This got him into more shows leading him to start playing vernacular plays that received quite an audience. His first debut was a Luo Film called Kibrit Olwar Epii, which enthroned him among his Luo kin. His first national hit came in the papa Shiradula Show Hosted on Citizen Tv which generated quite a following.
Jalang’o started his radio Journey at Ramogi FM doing voiceovers.
He applied for a job at Kiss 100 as a radio presenter a position that required a degree holder to apply. Miraculously, against all odds, he defeated his degree holder competitors and secured himself a job as a radio presenter co-hosting alongside Caroline Mutoko. this was both a happy and a sad day for him because it was the day his father passed.

He then moved to Radio Maisha and hosted alongside Alex Mwakideu; a show elevated the station move to position one from its 48th rank. Later, he joined Hot 96 and co-hosted with Jeff Koinange in 2017. In 2018, Felix joined Milele FM and reunited with former co-host Alex Mwakideu. He opened his Tv show Arena Media after losing his job in 2020. Jalang’o later returned to kiss FM where he co-hosts the morning kiss with media personality Kamene Goro.

In July 2018, the celebrated Media Personality got the opportunity to emcee at an event that was presided over by former US President Barack Obama in Kogelo, Siaya County. Obama launched the Sauti Kuu Foundation, an NGO started by his sister Dr. Auma Obama.
On July 1st, 2021, Jalang’o was picked as the MC for the 58th Madaraka Day at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium Kisumu.

They say Jalas is just talking because he is not in yet! Akiingia atasahau! he hopes he won’t! That’s why his slogan is UTU NA WATU! HUMANITY AND PEOPLE!!
He insists not to be called mweshimiwa until he has done the work to deserve that name!!
On July 15, 2021, Jalang’o was handed the Life Membership certificate by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna ahead of his bid to vie for the Langata Parliamentary Seat.
