Workers found identity cards, purses and cellphones among the wreckage of the Boeing 737

Chinese recovery teams on Tuesday picked through the debris of a crashed China Eastern jet after it inexplicably plummeted from the sky into a mountainside with 132 people on board.

Hopes of finding any survivors had all but vanished nearly a day after the Boeing 737-800 passenger jet nosedived into the mountain — likely making it China’s deadliest air crash in nearly three decades.

Questions mounted over the cause of the crash, which saw the stricken jet drop 20,000 feet (6096 metres) in just over a minute before ploughing into rugged terrain in southern China on Monday afternoon. Read more on tuko.co.ke

Narok Governor Samuel Tunai on Monday narrated the frustrations his administration has undergone trying to retire unqualified officers who draw huge salaries.

Tunai said some officers his government inherited from former authorities do not have academic papers but are earning as much as Sh150,000 a month.

“There is nothing we can do because we cannot sack them. Our attempts for arrangement on how we can reach an agreement [to retire them] have been stopped by the courts,” Tunai said. read more on the star.co.ke

Here are Kenyans Who Will Receive Raila’s Ksh. 6,000 Every Month

Laikipia County Governor, Ndiritu Muriithi, who doubles as the Chairman of the Raila Odinga Presidential Campaign Board, has she more light  on Kenyans who will receive the Ksh6,000 monthly stipend.

In a radio interview on Monday, March 20, Muriithi explained that the money will only be available for between one and 1.5 million households.

Arsenal FC chef Bernice Kariuki gifted Raila Odinga a personalized jersey written “Azimio” at the back.

Raila, who is the presidential flag bearer for the Azimio La Umoja political formation, was recently in London for a series of meetings including with the diaspora population.

Arsenal Chef Bernice Kariuki Gifts Raila Personalized Jersey

A 96-year-old Holocaust survivor, Borys Romanchenko, was killed Friday by a Russian strike on the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.

Romanchenko’s death was confirmed by the Buchenwald concentration camp memorial institute in a series of tweets.

Romanchenko survived the camps at Buchenwald, Peenemünde, Dora and Bergen-Belsen during World War II, the memorial said, adding that it was “stunned” by news of his death. read more on citizen digital
