#KamitiCallCenter: Nearly everyone has received a call from an unidentified number claiming to have sent money to your Mpesa account or a shipment awaiting clearance at the ports. Criminals have, however, graduated and are now in the business of pure conmanship; they now want the big bucks, as per an expose by citizen tv where a man allegedly speaks in a fluent Britain accent to lure his victims.
The Culprit, David Tett, a son of a former Member of parliament, was handed life imprisonment but had the sentence reduced to 15 years for robbery with violence. Having received schooling from a prestigious international school, David Tett also spent time in Australia, where he harnessed his English oratorical skills.
According to information reaching topnewsupdates, David Tett, in collusion with some guards and fellow inmates, poses as wealthy white men who undoubtedly speak fluent Britain English with an accent and scams people of vast sums of money. The calls come from inside the prison in organized call centers with many sim cards and spare phones. According to a video released on Citizen tv David Tett is seen on camera making one of his many spammy calls.
David Tett has mastered the art buana from #KamitiCallCenter. It is astonishing how they are operating within the Kamiti. There must be senior officers involved in this syndicate. Kenyans are susceptible to such accents. How they get our numbers only God knows. They con us daily. pic.twitter.com/0cRZreiC7W
