Today was a great day for the residents of Kirinyaga in the Gichugu constituency when the Azimio deputy president made an impromptu stop at the Kiamutugu town center. Her visit was massively applauded by the residents who showed up in large numbers and came to welcome her to her constituency where she served as an MP. in attendance was James Gaching’a an aspiring MP with Nark Kenya, and Aspiring MCA Murimi Bacilio.
The Azimio number two interreacted with the people and made it known to the people her ambitions to get into the government’s second-highest seat under the Azimio ticket under Raila Odinga. Speaking to the people she reiterated the Azimio Manifesto of stopping Corruption.
“I deliberated to join the coalition for a long time and decided that I have my people’s agenda at heart. I joined Azimio after noting that it is a good place for my people, my country is a good place where everything can be available, our hospitals are lacking in medical officers because they have been fired, because of a few people in the top tier. I am your mother and have your intentions at heart, we want to create an economy where youths can get jobs as the money have been channeled to people’s pocket”. she said.
“Many people will come claiming to give billions to youths, and billions to women, but where will the money come from?
I hear that bursary for school is allocated to a maximum of 3 thousand, when I was MP for this constituency, the minimum that was issued was 5 thousand with the needy receiving up to 10 thousand, and the money was not even devolved to counties”. She added.
“Raila Odinga has been fighting for your rights his entire life, we are promising to continue the fight for your rights. For the people saying that they have never elected Raila Odinga, even Nyanza have never voted for me, but now they will for the first time. We will work for you and make Kenya great again and you will be happy, I was with Raila in Kibaki’s government and roads were like tattered clothes and we constructed them and we can move smoothly, even the expressway was one of Engineer Raila Odinga’s plan. When I was handed the cabinet secretary job I made sure that my constituents received water and roads. Even the people claiming that I resigned from the cabinet position, I resigned the position, but remained as the people’s workman and continued to work to the end of my term”. She added.
“The new constitution has really helped the people I was at the topline of campaigning for it, the people who are claiming that they were promised the President seat are just giving out promises, but we get promised every time but we can never get it Until Gods time reaches. If the people we are competing with are just giving promises. But even in your homes, you want to say that you don’t know the kids who you can trust, to send to the shops, the child who you can trust with your animals that none will get lost?”. She reiterated.
“We should avoid promises without questions, you have your MCA Basilio who is educated, it is not jobs that he has refused but he can’t get any job, He is requesting for you to give him his first job, he has studied the same education that Kibaki studied, he is an economist. Even Kibaki was brought up by his Othaya people, here is your Kibaki, Nurture and grow him as Othaya people did to their son”.

The Azimio number two later attended her campaign fundraising event in Nairobi.
